All scarves are individually crafted and lovingly
created
Someone once asked me about whether I design my own
work. I of course answered yes. But it got me thinking; I have never
really thought about how I design, in fact I hadn’t really thought about
it at all
Really,
when I make a scarf it just creates itself; I’m inspired by colour and
design while I’m working. I certainly don’t sit down and paint out
glorious designs (which is a shame really, it would be a lovely thing to
be able to do), but rather make a start with wool and see what happens.
Often it is not until it is finished and dry that I will really know
what it will be like. I guess not all scarves have worked out
perfectly, some are just downright disappointing, but that is just part
of the process and the fun. Trying out new ideas and techniques that do
not always work out as I had hoped is part of the ongoing learning
process and I can’t be perfect all the time. But be assured I will only
sell the items I think are worthy of sale; the experimental ones that
don’t quite hit the grade will join a growing pile of adventurous
results!

Winter Lattice
100%
Merino wool, Crisscross pattern. this scarf has been 'woven'
with strips of wool and then felted together in white, green and
deep red. One of my early designs that I just love and am very
proud of

Frizzle Made with 100% Botany
wool, Which has a more 'earthy' feel than Merino. On one side a
contrasting pink wool is felted the length of the scarf and on
the other it is strewn throughout. To finish it off it has a
fringe on both edges of the same wool - really funky and one of
my favourites.
190cm x 40cm
£40
Squiggle
100% Merino wool with contrasting blues 'squiggled' in to a
pattern on the top. I have also added a separate piece of felt
stitched on with silver thread.

Camouflage Chic
This is very similar to 'Winter Lattice' woven in the same
way and felted together. however, this scarf is made from 100%
super-fine Merino which makes it even softer and the weave is
more open. Ideal to throw over your shoulders for a summer
evening.
185cm x 30cm

Blackberry Crush
This scarf is 100% Merino wool. I have laid out strips of
different colour purples and lilacs and felted them together.
The result is a riot of 'puce' squashed together - just
beautiful

Blue Two Tone
100% Merino wool in contrasting colours. I have finished
this scarf off with pale blue ribbon, machine embroidered in an
enchantingly haphazard way. This scarf has been fairly lightly
felted so it is extremely soft

Oxford Blues

stripes are felted on to the front. to add a little
embellishment I have machine embroidered down the stripes to add
extra emphasis.
147 x 26 cm

Breeze
This scarf is backed with Botany wool and faced with
contrasting blues and white stripes and the odd stripe of silk
provides that extra shimmer. The stripes all merge when felted
- I love it - it reminds me of the Cornish Summers

Raspberry Smoothie
Contrasting dusky pinks are felted back to back. Made of
100% pure Merino wool. In order to go further in the luxury
stakes I have added a velvet ribbon to the edge
188 x 20 cm

Cherry on Top
This scarf has been made with extra-fine Merino wool and is
fairly thin in texture. I had added gorgeous stripes of red
silk which provide a subtle glamour to the piece.
172 X 21 cm

Sunset Boulevard
This scarf is exciting because it not only contains
beautifully soft Merino wool, but also stripes of silk, kid and
alpaca. A truly exotic way to brighten the dullest of our
British weather.

Cherry Avenue
As long as it's wool you can felt to
it. This stylish scarf is felted on to a grid of hand woven
wool. The felt is 100% Merino wool.
160 x 18 cm

Smoke of the Water
A beautiful wrap made from half Botany wool and half Merino
wool. I have felted into the wrap lengths of hand woven blue wool
- a more earthy and rustic look, yet still funky.

Wholly Holy
This gorgeous scarf is made from 100% Merino wool (except
for the holes and, yes, they are part of the fantastic design,
honest!) with a contrasting edge in turquoise. Very unique.
